A Greener Week Journey
The Crystal River National Animals Refuge is an excellent place for nature lovers and those wishing to see Florida’s animals. Located in Kings Bay, Crystal River, this refuge is the only one in the United States dedicated to protecting the habitat of the Florida manatee, a subspecies of the West Indian manatee. It is amazing for a Greener Week Journey.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service helps ensure a healthy environment for people by providing opportunities for Americans to enjoy the outdoors and our shared natural heritage. We offer a number of services to the public, companies, and local government agencies.

The refugee foundation, your Greener Week Journey
The refuge was established in 1983 and covers 80 acres, including 20 islets and many small pieces of land. It’s a paradise for manatees, particularly in the winter when they seek out the warm waters of the springs. Visitors may see these gentle giants without disturbing or harming them.
Visitor centers with interactive exhibits may make learning about environment and animals more interesting and enjoyable. They often provide hands-on activities, educational exhibitions, and even live demos. It’s an excellent opportunity to connect with the environment and appreciate the value of conservation efforts. Have you got the opportunity to visit this sanctuary yet?
Help park’s conservation efforts
One of the simplest ways for anybody to help bird habitat conservation is to purchase Federal Duck Stamps, which are among the most effective conservation tools ever designed to safeguard habitat for birds and other species.

The refuge is engaged in various ongoing programs, including manatee preservation, monthly counts, health evaluations, and coordinating rescues and releases with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The refuge offers tourist services, conducts bird surveys, and works with local groups to preserve Kings Bay habitat.
If you intend to come, the refuge is open every day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please check the entrance fees before visiting this remarkable place. It’s the ideal location for a greener week journey!
